| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Protein synthesis is one of the most vital functions taking place in each and every human body. In order for us to utilize our protein intake in an efficient manner, an ample supply of the amino acid glutathione must be present in our cells. NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) is essential in the formation of glutathione, as it directly impacts our ability to synthesize the proteins we ingest. NOW NAC (with added trace elements of molybdenum and selenium) acts as a precursor to the production of glutathione, helps ward off infections through its antioxidant/detoxification properties and facilitates the production of several digestive enzymes.*

If you've had a tough night out, the next day I highly recommend taking one of these with food. At first you'll get a nasty burb -- this stuff is sulfur based? -- but you will start feeling like a million bucks a lot faster.
NOTE: I'm no doctor nor do I have any medical training... just a random consumer!
one of the most overlooked, underrated supplements there is. April 28, 2009 Enthu Hiryu (Minnesota) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you workout hard and want to maximize your gains there is little doubt that, like me, you have searched for supplements to squeeze all the gains out of your body you can. well, If you are just now learning about this supplement and wondering what it will do you, let me tell you.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine is a wonderful Amino that has so many functions, even if you don't exercise you should take it. It has been shown in studies (ast post on the AST Sports Science website) to increase lean muscle tissue and reduce body fat. It is has an expectorant effect that helps to cleanse the sinuses, which is great for any who suffer from allergies.NAC is a potent antioxidant and helps with muscle recovery after workouts. It can help the liver and protect the kidneys as well.
I use this primarily for the effects on my workouts and sinuses. I put on more lean muscle when taking it and reduces my body fat as well. There is quite a noticable difference on my abdominal definition with the same amount of exercise when taking it (I stopped once for 2 months just to test if it was making the difference).
NAC should have a permanent home in your supplement cabinet. It can help boost your immunes system and aids in detoxing your body while actings as a potent anti-oxidant. Just a brief search of the web about it and you will find many amazing qualities the old nutritional supp has.
