I purchased this book and have not been able to put it down. Your home should definitely reflect who you are. The steps (and there are steps) in this book are easy and effective in creating a home that is very much reflective of you and the other individuals who may live there.

You might find the title and concept of "your home as a sanctuary" cheesy, but the ideas, examples and advice in this book are not. Full of photos of beautifully simple spaces that can be easily recreated, this book is a pleasure to work from.

I checked out this book when I was trying to organize my living space. If you like clean, open, unadorned, light living areas; this is a great book. I checked it out from the library three times and then eventually decided to buy it. My boyfriend looked at it, and he said that he thought it was common sense but he liked the pictures.

The main thing that I liked about the book is that it addresses house cleaning and organizing from a holistic sense. I am not necessarily a holistic person, but this really worked for me. It's much better than the Sunset Books or Martha Stewart clinical approach to house cleaning and organizing. It gives you ideas about how to make lists of house chores to do on certain days. Also, Josephine suggests using essential oils and natural ingredients to clean your house. It points out that light and lack of clutter are important.

The writing exercises are important. Don't skip them!
